Google has been getting stricter by the day, slapping websites right and left that do not adhere to the Google norms. Well, here are a few strategies to help you prevent from being slapped by Google:

Links: Getting links from Blogger’s account, through fake forum accounts, link farms, irrelevant links are all dead. Google doesn’t approve of any of these. So, stop wasting your time, energy and money on links that take you nowhere. Instead, focus on social media and let people talk about your website to get more and more links. Well, it may take you some time as well as efforts to create interest for your site. But, it’s worth it.

Spamming with keywords: Another trick that Google doesn’t take kindly is using too many keywords! Use long keywords, related keywords and use them only sparingly.

Low quality content: Use highly informative content on your website. If you have been spun content, or content that’s simply fluff, the axe may fall on you sooner than you think. If writing is not your cup of tea, or you don’t know how to create high quality content, you may outsource the task. Google’s latest algorithm Penguin is lashing out at websites with low quality content and those filled with keywords.

Black Hat tactics: If you are using any of the black hat tactics to achieve higher page rank and get more traffic, you are likely to hit by Google. Try to get as much organic traffic by using natural keywords. The links to your website should be coming from authenticated websites with a good page rank. Upgrade your content and keep it up to date and you’ll never ever have to worry about being penalized by Google!
